Situated in one of Manhattan’s most exclusive neighborhoods,
opened in 1927. Originally designed by Schwartz & Gross, the luxury 5 star hotel is located in the Upper East Side Historic District on 77th Street between Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue.
After 3 years of renovations, reopening in 2009, the 15-story building is now home to 180 hotel rooms and 42 extraordinary suites, with interiors and furnishings by world-renowned French designer Jacques Grange, whose client list also includes Catherine Deneuve, Princess Caroline of Monaco, Valentino, and Yves Saint Laurent. In addition, the lobby and bar features one-of-a-kind pieces created by artists and artisans Eric Schmitt, Vladimir Kagan, Paul Mathieu, Guy de Rougemont, François-Marie Banier, Mattia Bonetti, Anne Corbière, Vincent Corbière and Jean-Philippe Delhomme, among others.
